A mask to listen to, 1997. Silicon
A volunteer performs for hours, sitting still with a mask on.
The ear of the mask belongs to another person.

The voyage begins when you put on the mask.
Slowly, your senses vanish and through the ear of another you begin to hear beyond yourself, a strange reality belonging to another life.
You cannot hear sounds, voices, or memories.
You can feel how precarious your reality is, now that you live within perceptions that are not yours.
It doesn't matter whose pink silicon ear it is.
The only important fact is that you leave your own instincts behind to embrace new ones.
Your nude body on the white sheets is abandoned while your head carries you far.....
